60 AMU students injured in clashes with police against Citizenship Act, university closed till Jan 5

At least 60 students of the Aligarh Muslim University were injured as protests against the amended Citizenship Act broke out in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. The students clashed with the police at a campus gate, following which the administration announced the closure of the university till January 5. Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Registrar Abdul Hamid said the police entered the campus late Sunday night and clashes were reported from inside. "Hostels are being evacuated," he said.
