Cyclone Gaja batters coastal Tamil Nadu with heavy rains, over 76,000 people evacuated; schools shut in Nagapattinam

After intensifying into a severe cyclonic storm, cyclone 'Gaja' crossed the Tamil Nadu coast between Nagapattinam and nearby Vedaranniyam early Friday, a weather bulletin said today.
