CBI Vs CBI: Alok Verma-Rakesh Asthana feud turns murkier; arrested DSP Devender Kumar to be produced in court today | 10 Points
The war within India's premier investigative agency CBI has turned murkier with the arrest of Deputy Superintendent of Police Devender Kumar, who along with special director Rakesh Asthana has been accused of taking Rs 3 crore in bribes from businessman Sathish Babu Sana. With the searches at Kumar's office, CBI director Alok Verma seeks to take the FIR against his rival Asthana to its logical conclusion. Kumar's arrest comes a day after the agency registered an FIR against Asthana and several others for allegedly accepting bribes to settle a case of meat exporter Moin Qureshi, who is facing multiple cases of money laundering and corruption. The CBI has alleged that bribes were given at least five times between December, 2017 and October this year. CBI is likely to produce the arrested DSP before Patiala House Court at 11 am today. from IndiaTV: Google News Feed https://ift.tt/2yxTF73
